Top 10 Tuesdays – Characters I’d Follow On Social Media

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This list isn’t in any particular order and I’ve tried to make sure to stick to one character per book series.

(I use Twitter not instagram so I’m only thinking of text posts not pictures)

Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter)

  • she would give the best conspiracy theories and would make me smile pretty much every time I saw her posts.

Cather (Fangirl)

  • She write amazing fanfic why wouldn’t I want to follow her?

Crowley (Good Omens)

  • Crowley’s posts would be more fun than Aziraphale because of all the small ways he thinks of to torture people. Plus he’d boast more about things while I think Aziraphale is more humblebrag but with more emphasis on the humble than the brag bit

Lyra & Pan (His Dark Materials)

  • These two come together and I’d want the Lyra of HDM not Book of Dust. I want the girl with adventure in her eyes not being weighed down by academics.

Matilda (Matilda)

  • I mean this is the girl that all book loving children wanted to be friends with when they were young, why wouldn’t I want her on my list?
  • Also the recent reprint covers have her doing a tonne of different jobs and I’d be happy with her regular posts about any one of them.

Wol/Owl (Winnie the Pooh)

  • You can‘t help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn‘t spell it right; but spelling isn’t everything. There are days when spelling Tuesday simply doesn‘t count.”
  • I feel like this quote perfectly shows why Owl would be interesting even if he is too clever for his own good.

Charlie (Heartstopper)

  • It would be full of adorable photos of him and Nick that would make me smile.
  • I would make him my 3rd follow on IG (my sister’s best friend’s dog, and my sister being 1 & 2 respectively)

Alice (Blade so Black)

  • On the proviso that she posted everything she was doing in Wonderland but in a super sarky way so it looks like a fictional account.

Kellen (Spellslinger

  • Just so I could see the adventures of him and Reiches (squirrel cat) and posts about how he nearly died today

Sarah Jane Smith (Doctor Who)

  • Bit of a fudge because the books with her in a TV spin offs or novelisations. But she’s an amazing investigative journalist and know aliens exist. I’d want to read her posts knowing that she often helps with cover-ups so I could read between the lines
